Many dogs do indeed love belly rubs! It’s a common behavior for them to roll onto their backs, exposing their bellies, as a sign of trust and submission. Rubbing their belly in that position can be very enjoyable for them, as it’s an area that’s often sensitive and pleasant to be touched. It’s a great way to bond with your furry friend and make them feel loved and relaxed.
Catahoulas may be more reserved than other breeds, especially around strangers or in new situations. It took Sophie several days to come around to me and her new living situation. She had been through a few different owners, so it is understandable. I’m just happy she turned out to be such a fantastic dog. You have to give a dog time to adjust to you and their new home. They have to do it at their own pace.
