The saying “the eyes are the window to the soul” suggests that one’s eyes reveal their true feelings, intentions, or character. While it’s a poetic notion, it’s not entirely scientific. However, there is some truth to it in a metaphorical sense. I see something special in the eyes of the Sandhill Crane, I have an emotional bond to them. I see something special in their soul and love looking into their amber and red colored eyes.
The eyes of a Sandhill Crane, like those of many birds, are marvels of nature’s engineering. They’re typically large, round, and have a wide field of vision, aiding these majestic birds in detecting predators and prey alike. The coloration can vary but often includes shades of brown, amber, or yellow, sometimes with hints of red or orange. Their eyes are adapted for keen sight, allowing them to spot potential threats from afar and also to locate food sources such as small animals, insects, and plants.
